We are God’s Children!
We end the Liturgical year celebrating Christ the King, and we begin the new Liturgical year preparing for his birth as a helpless child, born in a lowly manger. When we ponder the life of Christ, we see such juxtaposition and some even see contradiction and irony.

The Greatest Procession on Earth
Finding ways to celebrate quality time with children is also crucial. As we move into the Holy time of Christmas, we get the sense that time has stopped, if even for a few hours and in those precious hours where lifetime memories are created we glow in the light of Christ that God promised to us throughout the Advent Season. The glow is enduring and is often rekindled throughout the year in small ways through quality time spent with loved ones creating irreplaceable joyful moments.

Christmas Caution
Well the Christmas season is upon us once again, and along with it come all the requisite joys and wonders, prayers and songs, well-wishes and presents, and abundant opportunities (and possibly even a little extra pressure) to volunteer for the holiday play, living nativity, breakfast-with-Santa, church hayride, et cetera. Many people love this time of year and these events—and rightfully so—but they do provide for a somewhat chaotic atmosphere. During these times, it only makes sense to be certain that our level of alertness remain constant.

The Role of Caring Adults
When we approach such difficulties in life, we fall back to ways of seeing and thinking that are often based in erroneous theory. Most of us have preconceptions to confront, and regarding the topic of child sexual abuse, many of these come to the surface. Our role as caring adults is to do all we can to gain an understanding of who predators are, how they act, and most importantly, how we protect children from their grooming tactics to avoid possible sexual abuse.
